<image:caption>An alarming blood pressure taken at the outreach clinic. A normal score is around 120 over 80. This patient had no idea and felt relatively fine. The issue with chronic disease is that it is asymptomatic - so people don't know they are at risk of stroke, diabetes or other cardiac event. Through the screening program, this patient will receive treatment before such an outcome occurs. Preventive health at its best.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Naweza clinicians have limited time to see patients. Once the sun goes down, there is not enough light in the building to continue to see people. Also, patients do not like to travel in the dark, so they must leave before the sun sets to make the journey home by foot or vehicle, often hours away.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Both our CHWs and the clinic staff at our partner clinic are engaged in teaching sessions to understand the basis of disease and our program protocols. For the clinic staff, teaching is done through Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminars that focuses on the pathology, diagnosis and treatment of disease through clear protocols. For the CHWs, teaching is focused on basic knowledge of the disease and screening protocols, and is done in small groups or one-on-one.</image:caption>
